Default serial port settings All the serial ports are set at the factory to 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit. By default the port protocols (such as TCP, SSH, Telnet) are all disabled, as are hardware and software flow control. These serial ports can be reconfigured and baud rates can be set at 2400 to 230400 baud using the Management Console.
Lower baud rates (50, 75, 110, 134, 150, 200, 300, 600, 1200, 1800 baud) can be configured using the config command from the command line e.g. # /bin/config --set=config.ports.port5.speed=50 as detailed in Chapter 15 (Basic Configuration - Linux Commands) in the User Manual. The LOCAL DB9 console/modem port is set at 115200 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, with Xon-Xoff software flow control enabled; and it also can be reconfigured using the management console or the command line. Refer to the cabling pages for information on physically connecting cables and devices to these serial and console ports. |
