Why does the IP-KVM have a second Ethernet LAN?
The dual LAN is one of the key features of the IP-KVM which differentiates it from other KVM over IP switches. Dual LAN ports simplifies the cabling as the IP-KVM can be placed in line any other Ethernet connected piece of equipment that might be conveniently located near the target. Multiple IP-KVMs can also be daisy-chained together in a string to control multiple target servers. This removes the need for additional switch ports on the management network.
