Opengear’s New CMx86 Software Console Server Further Enhances its Suite of Aggressively-Priced Console Management Solutions

WEST JORDAN, UTAH MAY 2, 2005 – Opengear Inc., a new, quality supplier of console server manager and KVM over IP solutions, today followed-up on the release of its CM4000 console server solution with the introduction of its next highly-anticipated product the Opengear CMx86 software console server. Opengear will be demonstrating its CMx86 solution at NetWorld + Interop on May 3-5, 2005 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Booth #1103.

The entry level CMx8604 product, which is comprised of the CMx86 console server software and a four port multiport card is affordably priced at $149 MSRP. The CMx86 software supports unlimited users and a range of third party multiport cards. Opengear supplies a line of multiport cards enabling users to add more ports to their console server for under $25 per port MSRP.

Opengear’s CMx86 software is built on the “okvm” open source project http://www.okvm.sourceforge.net, offering customers a dedicated solution complete with all source code for deployment. Opengear’s CMx86 console server software enables systems administrators and IT managers to affordably manage their distributed servers and network appliances, anywhere in the world, any time of day.
