Rick Stevenson, CEO
Rick Stevenson is a seasoned executive and technological visionary with
over 30 years in senior roles at computer and
communications technology companies. Most recently a VP of Product
Development at McAfee, Rick was previously CEO at SnapGear, a leading
developer of network security devices. He has also held senior roles at
IBM, Secure Computing, Stallion Technologies and Pyramid Technology and
been involved in several successful startup companies. Rick has a deep
technical knowledge in areas including network security and embedded
systems and has been a stalwart supporter of the FOSS community. He has Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer
Science from the University of Queensland and Rick is currently an
Adjunct Professor in the School of Information Technology and Electrical
Engineering there.

Bob Waldie, Chairman
Bob Waldie, as executive Chair, helps steer Opengear and manages key strategic partnerships. Bob has a track record of successful entrepreneurship with open source ventures, and prior to co-founding Opengear, he chaired SnapGear - a developer of embedded Linux security appliances. In 2003
SnapGear was acquired by CyberGuard. Before this Bob was CEO of
Moreton Bay Ventures which developed Internet messaging products. In 2000, Moreton Bay was acquired by Lineo Inc, where Bob served as COO. Bob has participated in other startups, and served on the board of private and public technology companies, as well as government and industry bodies.

Tony Merenda, Director, VP Engineering and ROW Sales
Opengear co-founder Tony Merenda manages the hardware development operation and is responsible for distributor partnerships in EMEA and APAC. Tony began his career as CTO with Stallion Technologies, a company he
co-founded in 1985. There Tony and his team developed innovative data
communications and remote access hardware adapters and network appliances.
Subsequently Tony led the R&D team at ePipe which
developed a suite of patented data compression and encryption technologies.
Tony was also a co-founder of SnapGear, and worked there
as VP Product Marketing, driving managed network security appliance projects

Todd Rychecky, VP Sales & Marketing America
Todd Rychecky has over 17 years of sales and sales management experience. He is responsible for managing the sales and marketing strategies in the Americas. He excels at working with system integrators, global key accounts, OEM partnerships and implementing product marketing strategies. Todd worked for Whitmire Distribution/Cardinal Health (1991-1996) and sold the industries first pharmacy management system. Todd also worked for Datex-Engstrom (1996-1999) selling patient monitoring solutions. At Perle Systems (1999-2008) he was a Senior Sales Manager and the top sales producer for the company for the past decade. Todd holds a BS from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

John D. Bedrick, Chief Marketing Officer & VP Product Management
John is responsible for overseeing the overall marketing, product strategy and vision for the company. Prior to Opengear, John was in senior management for: CryptoMill, Seagate Technology, Microsoft Corporation, McAfee, CA Technologies, Intel Corporation and National Semiconductor where he led these companies in implementing new and innovative product lines while creating paradigm shifts in the industry. John also held IT management positions at both Philip Morris Corporation and Time Warner.
John has more than 30 years of high-tech experience. He has a BSc in Marketing & Management from Wagner College in NYC and a combined Masters/Doctorate degree in Metaphysics from ULC.

Dr Brendan Baker,
Manager Business Development & Sales (ANZ)
Brendan Baker manages Opengear’s partnerships and sales in Australia and NZ. He has over 13 years experience in the ICT sector including roles in engineering and research. Brendan comes to Opengear from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) where he served as a research lab manager and researcher. He has held roles both as a visiting scholar at the T.J Watson IBM Research Center in New York, and Professeur Invité at the Universite d’Avignon, France. Brendan also has extensive experience in the control and automation fields, having worked as a Software Engineer in the transport division at Invensys Rail and Foxboro Australia. He holds a PhD, and BE(Electronics)/BInfoTech from QUT.

Robert Waldie,
VP Business Development (UK & Europe)
Robert Waldie manages Opengear's UK operation and is responsible for for
technology partnering, channel development, marketing strategy, channel
sales training and technical solutions across the UK and Europe.
Robert's background is in software engineering, previously having led
the Opengear software development team. Prior to joining Opengear,
Robert worked with SnapGear developing embedded Linux security and
network applications, then as a consultant specializing in open source
solutions. Robert holds a BSc in Computer Science and a BA in
Linguistics from the University of Queensland.

Jared Mallett,
Product Marketing Manager & Technical Sales (Americas)
Jared Mallett has over 12 years of consistent success in technical sales, training and implementation across various platforms and development environments. He is responsible for sales engineering support in North America as well as implementing product marketing strategies worldwide. He has a breadth of experience in delivering remote management solutions to enterprise customers. Prior to Opengear Jared delivered sales engineering support at Perle Systems.
