Company
Opengear designs and manufactures solutions which enable secure remote access and control of all the computers and communications devices in distributed networks.
With Opengear’s integrated console server and management solutions, ISPs can remotely access and control all their POPs; enterprises their distributed branch offices; telcos can centrally manage their DSU/CSU infrastructure; and utilities can securely automate control of their nation-wide networks of plant and equipment.
Opengear’s products enable secure control of servers, firewalls, power devices and other infrastructure; from the applications software level right down to the hardware. Equipment can be remotely reconfigured, rebooted and even power cycled. You can monitor and log all site activity, and send warning email alarms. And the extensive out-of-band support ensures you can access and control remote sites even when the main network is down. The result is a drastic reduction in the need for expensive on-site technical staff and out-of-hours site visits; and an accompanying acceleration in problem resolution and boosting of network availability.
Mission
To be the lead provider of simple, secure and affordable technologies, services and solutions that meet the infrastructure management needs of enterprise data centers, telcos, businesses with distributed offices, MSPs and industrial control sites.
To develop and lever open source software and hardware so as to reduce barriers to managing distributed networks.
