Adapter / Cable Lookup Chart
The table below shows the adapters used to interconnect various types of equipment with console servers with Classic (-X0), Cyclades (-X1) and Cisco (-X2) pin-outs. Opengear adapters are to be used with standard CAT5 UTP cables unless noted otherwise.
The serial console on most generic x86 computers and smart devices is a DB9M DTE connector. So they can be attached to a serial port on an Opengear console server with Opengear classic pinout using standard UTP Cat 5 cable terminated in a #319001 (DB9F DCE). Similarly they can connect to an Opengear console server with Cisco pinout using standard UTP Cat 5 cable terminated in a #319015 adapter.
